Zaytoun Ballew & Taylor, PLLC Wins NC Supreme Court Victory to Uphold $5.5 Million Dollar Jury Verdict in Medical Malpractice Case

On September 25, 2020, in Savino v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority, the North Carolina Supreme Court issued a 5-1 ruling in favor of the Plaintiff in a medical negligence lawsuit, reinstating a $5.5 million dollar jury verdict that had previously been set aside by the North Carolina Court of Appeals. The plaintiff in the case, Anthony Savino, died of a heart attack after the hospital prematurely discharged him from its emergency department. Savino’s estate brought a medical negligence action against the hospital on the theories that it was negligent in providing medical care and performing its administrative duties. Zaytoun Law Firm Helps Secure $10 Million Settlement in Outer Banks Power Outage Class Action; Community Meeting on Wed. 5/16/2018

Zaytoun Law Firm recently helped win a $10.35 million class-action settlement for victims of the power outage impacting Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands last summer.  The settlement was recently approved by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and has been generating media attention, including in this article by the Ocracoke Observer. Robert Zaytoun Nominated for NC Advocates for Justice Award; Featured in Trial Briefs Magazine

Zaytoun Law Firm attorney Robert Zaytoun was recently nominated for the Kellie Crabtree Award by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and featured in the NCAJ's Trial Briefs Magazine.  A copy of the article can be accessed here. Zaytoun Law Firm Wins $871,000 Verdict in Employment Discrimination Case

      Zaytoun Law Firm was recently featured in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and in the Triangle Business Journal for a substantial verdict won by the firm in an employment discrimination case.  In Eric Rappaport, MD v. Raleigh OB/GYN Centre, PA, 14 CVS 1438, Wake County Superior Court, Zaytoun Law Firm’s client won a verdict of $871,603.00 in compensatory and punitive damages, and a judgment for over $1,000,000.00 with the addition of costs and pre-judgment interest.
