Robert Zaytoun’s Scholarship Raising Efforts Recognized in UNC Law School’s Alumni News

Last fall, attorney Robert Zaytoun of Zaytoun Law Firm served as the Chair of the 2014 UNC Law Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Classic Committee.  The 2014 Committee put on an annual fundraising golf tournament that raised record funding for student scholarships at UNC Law School.  Accordingly, Robert and the firm, along with Zaytoun Law Firm attorneys and UNC Law alumni John Taylor and Matt Ballew, and UNC golf team alum Henry Zaytoun, III, were featured in the October 2, 2014 edition of UNC Law School's Alumni News with the picture above. “Defensive medicine” myth continues to be debunked by recent studies

Legal blogger Max Kennerly recently wrote a great post explaining the myth of "defensive medicine"--the false idea that health care costs are high because doctors constantly order unnecessary tests out of a fear of being sued.   In addition to pointing out the flawed logic with this idea, the post cites to a new wave of medical studies confirming that the "tort reform" laws passed to stop this purported problem have failed to make medical care any cheaper or safer for patients in states across the nation.  This is certainly true here in North Carolina. Cleveland Clinic study finds that the savings from ‘tort reform’ are mythical
