Sarah Ellerbe

Of Counsel

Raleigh Attorney Sarah Ellerbe

A desire to help others stand up for their rights drove Sarah Ellerbe to pursue a legal career. Sarah grew up in Lake Wales, Florida and has been a resident of Johnston County since 1994. For many years Sarah has been an active member of the Johnston County community having served as president of the Smithfield Jaycees, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and in various capacities as a member of First Baptist Church Clayton.

Sarah attended Salem College where she attained a degree in Harp Performance Cum Laude before attending Campbell Law School. While at Campbell, Sarah was a member of the ATLA Trial Team and the 1993 Moot Court Team which finished 8th in the National Finals held in New York City. She also received the prestigious Order of Barrister award. After graduation, Sarah spent the majority of her career working for Lucas, Denning & Ellerbe in Selma, North Carolina, representing the citizens of Johnston County primarily in personal injury cases, several of which resulted in multi-million dollar settlements. For Sarah, the importance of these large cases was not the financial recovery itself, but the care and accommodations the recoveries afforded to severely injured people so that their lives could be as comfortable and normal as possible.

Outside of the office you’ll find her riding her horse, walking her dog, playing guitar and cheering on the Florida State Seminoles.
