Firm Wins Record-Setting $8.235 Million Jury Verdict in Federal Police Misconduct Trial.
We are honored to announced that the a federal jury in New Bern, N.C. on September 25, 2019 returned a unanimous verdict for our client in a police misconduct civil rights trial. The verdict has been reported and is believed to be the largest law enforcement civil rights jury verdict in North Carolina history. The jury found that Wake County Sheriff's deputies violated our client's rights by committing an unlawful search, unlawful arrest, excessive force, unjustified deadly force, and malicious prosecution, all arising from a traffic stop incident occurring in Apex, N.C. in July 2013.
